Transportation in Coos County is limited. Dial a Ride serves the major cities on a call-in basis and CCAT, our municipal bus line, serves a limited bus route in Coos Bay and North Bend during the week. Taxi service is good yet expensive to some clients. There has been an ongoing state attorney general investigation of possible gasoline price gouging in the bay area. The economy is terrible; but, may be turning around. With a population of 63,000 and serving an area of 1600 square miles, transportation is a major issue in Coos County.
